Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the new philanthropy. Forward thinking corporations see philanthropy as a highly-choreographed dance; one that involves their human resources, finance, marketing, and community relations teams. What is CSR?

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development, in its publication, Making Good Business Sense, describes it this way:

Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by a business to behave ethically, and contribute to economic development, while improving the quality of life for the workforce and their families, as well as for the local community and society at large.
